Meet Our Team

Dr. John La Stella Jr.
Managing DVM
Dr. John grew up in Charlotte, N.C. where he attended East Mecklenburg High School and graduated from UNCC with a Bachelor of Science. He then went on to earn his DVM from The Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island.
After graduation, he started his career working at Freedom Animal Hospital. In 2003 he came to The Pet Hospital and later became the practice owner in 2009. He has a special interest in rigid endoscopy and orthopedic surgery.
He is married; his wife runs their boarding facility in Charlotte with two children, 4 cats, and 1 dog. His spare time is spent playing golf or attending home games for the Charlotte Hornets or the Carolina Panthers.

Dr. Natalie Bryant
Spending the majority of her childhood out west, Dr. Natalie Bryant spent her early years exploring the high deserts of Wyoming and mountains of Utah with her family. She garnered a love for animals and nature there that transferred with her when her family moved to Tennessee.
Since graduating in 2002 from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Bryant has been working in the Gaston County area as a small animal veterinarian. She has been employed with The Pet Hospital since 2009 (over 11 years). Her special interests include preventative care, internal medicine, and feline medicine. Her greatest joy is helping her patients live their best lives.
Dr. Bryant has four furry cats, two fun-loving human children, and one amazing husband at home to contend with when not caring for patients at The Pet Hospital.

Dr. Rubi Ramos
Dr. Rubi Ramos has treated animals with compassion from an early age. When Dr. Ramos and her family would visit family in Mexico, she would go to the little corner store by her grandmother’s house to buy a bag of dog food. She would stuff her pockets full of kibble and hand it to any stray dog she came across.
Since then, Dr. Ramos has continued to provide care for animals by pursuing veterinary medicine. She graduated from Ross University in 2022 with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She lives at home with her husband and their five cats (all foster fails).

Dr. Madi Turley
Dr. Madi Turley grew up in Westfield, Indiana. Growing up, Dr. Turley had many pets, including dogs, pet rats, and fish, and she worked to ride at horse stables. Dr. Turley attended college at Southern Illinois University and graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and a Minor in American Sign Language. She then took a year off to work at Plymouth Veterinary Clinic as a veterinary assistant before starting veterinary school at Oregon State University. Dr. Turley graduated from Oregon State University in 2024 with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Turley enjoys reading, watercolor painting, crocheting amigurumi, hiking, and Dungeons & Dragons in her free time.

Monica
Hello, I am the practice manager at The Pet Hospital. I took over this position in November of 2020; prior to that, I was a Veterinary assistant here at the clinic. I have been in vet med since 2014. I absolutely love my job and helping our patients and pet parents as much as I can. Outside of the office, I am the proud mom of 2 amazing Human children and 3 fur babies (2 dogs and 1 cat).

Megan
Megan has been with The Pet Hospital since 2013 but has been in the field since 2005. She is currently working on her RVT degree through Purdue University. She has 4 dogs and 3 cats and has a soft spot for large dogs and black cats.

Lindsey
My name is Lindsey, and I am a Registered Veterinary Technician. I graduated from Gaston College in 2022. I am the proud pet parent of two beautiful silver labs, Gucci and Hank, and a betta fish, Swish. My love for all animals and their care drives my dedication not only at work but outside of work. I also love to hike, paddle board, and shop with my identical twin sister. I look forward to caring for your fur baby!

Jessiene
Jessiene has worked for the pet hospital since 2009 and has been in the field since 2004. She has one dog but loves both cats and dogs. She has a passion for pits and pugs. She plans on starting veterinary technician school in the near future.

Karigan
Hi! My name is Karigan, I started with the Pet Hospital in December of 2021, I absolutely love all animals, but I prefer pities as I have 3 of them! When I am not at working, I am spending my time with my family. I can’t wait to meet and love on your fur babies!!

Caitlyn
My name is Caitlyn; I have been with The Pet Hospital since 2018. I am almost finished with my Veterinary Technician certification through pen Penn Foster. I love all animals, but Doberman’s are my absolute favorite breed. I cannot wait to see your animals.

Alexis
Alexis is part of our reception team, she has been a part of the family for a year now, she always has a smile on her face and will do all she can to make sure that you feel welcome, she has an undying love for Basset hounds. She is the proud mom of 1 yr. old, very spoiled Brinley (she is her one true Love). She cannot wait to see your fur babies.

Ana
She has been in the vet field since 2019, and was a vet assistant in Florida for more than 2 years now, she is at The Pet Hospital as a receptionist. She is so excited to see and meet your fur babies!

Brooke
I am an animal lover; she is a mama to 3 cats and a Toy Poodle; she is excited to meet everyone and their fur babies. She wants everyone to know that your babies are in the best of hands.

Buddha
Buddha has been with us since 2017. For several years he was saving lives by donating blood to dogs that needed a transfusion. He retired from his blood donor position in early 2020. Now he spends his days watching over the goings-on in the hospital and napping.

Lacey
Lacey grew up in Kings Mountain, NC, and graduated from Kings Mountain High School in 2006. She then went on to Gaston College and graduated with an associate degree from the Veterinary Medical Technology Program in May 2009. Lacey has been with The Pet Hospital since August 2009. Her special interests include lab work and dentistry. On her days off, she enjoys going motorcycle riding with her husband and spending time with family.

Harley has been with the Pet Hospital for 3 months now, she has 2 dog fur babies named Helix and Sandy. She is looking forward to meeting and getting to know all your fur babies!

Ally has been a receptionist at The Pet Hospital for over a year now, she is also a certified dog groomer, while she is not working as a groomer full time right. Ally loves her job and getting to see all your amazing and adorable pets. Ally is mom to two cats (Palmer and Puddle) and she is a new mom to a rescue pitbull named Jolene.
Caitlyn

Hello, my name is Kaitlyn but around here they call me Hunnicutt! I am a recent graduate from Gaston College with an associate’s degree from the Veterinary Medical Technology Program. I’m a Registered Veterinarian Technician. I love all animals, big or small! I can’t wait to help take care of your pet!
